Feeding experiment on laying hens

  • Performing institution : Gyeongsangbuk-do Livestock Technology Reseach Center
  • Experiment period : Oct. 2010 ~ Feb. 2011 (age : 21 ~ 28 weeks)
  • Experiment method : Control group (no addition of Growfeed Well Farm to feedstuff)
  • Experimental group (added 0.5% of Growfeed Well Farm to feedstuff)
  • 100 heads (50 heads per group × 2) of improved native chickens (Korean native crossbred chickens)

Special features of the experiment results

  • The experimental group showed improvement in feed conversion rate and in everage broken-egg rate.
  • The crude fat content of the experimental group was significantly lowered by 12.5% than that of the control group and the crude protein content was improved as well.
  • The control group showed higher saturated fatty acid contents in the fatty acid composition of the egg and the unsaturated fatty acid contents of the experimental group was greatly improved.

  • 100 chicks per group × 2 = 200 chicks

Special features of the experiment results

  • The weight gain rate in the total weight gain of the experimental group was improved compared to the control group.
  • The experimental group showed lower values of the total cholesterol in the blood as well as in GOT and GPT which indicate the liver functions.
  • The experimental group also showed higher lgG contents which indicates the amount of immunity substances in the blood.
  • The experimental group showed higher water-holding capacity (which indicates the meat quality) than the control group.
  • The control group showed higher saturated fatty acid contents in the fatty acid composition and the experimental group showed higher unsaturated fatty acid contents.
